Croeso
Set in the grounds of our former quarry master’s house, we have two unique spaces designed to help guests get the best from their visit to Dyfi. Each cabin is a self-contained space for your group, extending outside to a BBQ and firepit each. Guests are welcome (and encouraged) to explore the shared areas of the garden.
Off Grid Living
Although connected to mains water, both Cabans are powered solely by a 12-Volt solar PV system. There are USB and cigarette-lighter sockets for charging phones and tablets, but no mains power. Each cabin has its own compost-toilet and gas powered shower in a separate block a few steps from the accommodation. No sharing bathrooms here!
We hope this “back to basics” feel will give you the chance to unplug from modern life and enjoy Dyfi to the full.
Caban Hyfryd
Caban Hyfryd is a rustic but comfortable retreat with comfortable beds for 4 (double and 2 bunks) that give a great night’s sleep. (We know, we’ve tried it!). There’s a gas burner in the kitchen to make your coffee and porridge to start the day’s exploring. When you return, the separate shower block has dedicated how shower and toilet, plus all you need to clean kit, lock-up bikes. Back inside, the wood burner gets the Caban toasty warm in minutes.
If the weather’s nice, there’s a gas BBQ on the deck with wonderful views and well-planted garden where you can enjoy your meal. If it’s wet, there’s a range of excellent pubs, restaurants and take aways only a short drive or walk away.
Plas Tun
Plas Tun (the Tin Palace!) draws inspiration from Dave’s memories of working Welsh hillfarms of his childhood. Furnished using up-cycled mid-century pieces, Plas Tun sleeps 4 in a king-size double and two bunks. Being slightly larger that Caban Hyfryd, this cabin can handle older families or groups of friends with ease.
Outside, you can relax around your private firepit and enjoy the Himalayan garden. Stunning walks and trails run from the door, with beautiful beaches only 30m away.
